Hi friends. It’s snowmobile season in Wisconsin. We’ve got snow on the ground, lakes are frozen over and the trails are open for traffic. I come from a family snowmobile lovers. Our family bought a cabin in Northern Wisconsin just to ensure we had a place to snowmobile in the winter with trails that go on for miles. As for my husband and I and our kids, we only frequented the cabin in the middle of summer for boating season! I have one nephew that has a birthday on January 15. He is the biggest Arctic Cat lover that I know. He loves the green and black sleds and even wears all the gear to match. When I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to make him a birthday card that includes the snow-MOLE-bile! Of course, these creatures’ attire had to be colored in Acrtic Cat green. 🙂
I’m using the following stamp and die sets from Trinity Stamps for this fun winter season birthday card:
Snow MOLE-bile stamp and die sets (for the moles and feature phrase)
Slimline Card Series: Scenic Borders die set (for the snow hills)
Slimline Series: The Great Outdoors Borders & Builders die set (for the trees)
A Latte Love stamp set (for “Sending” and “wishes”)
To make this slimline card measuring 8-1/2″ wide X 3-1/2″ tall, I created the background by blending Distressed Oxide Inks using Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass and my Trinity Stamps brand Blending Buddy applicator. Before the ink dried, I splattered waterdrops on the blended color and blotted it with a paper towel, creating the the muted light blue splotches. I added additional white snowflakes using a white acrylic paint pen.
Next, I added the snow hills using dies from the Slimline Card Series: Scenic Borders die set. I used the cloud die to create the background snow banks. I love the stitching on these dies. It’s a nice texture touch! I stamped, colored and die cut three moles and the phrase from the set. Again, Arctic Cat green was important to use for the sweaters to tailor this card for my nephew. 🙂 I attached these fun runners using dimensional foam tabs to make them stand out. It’s almost like they are in the air, flying above the snow drifts. Once the phrase was in place, I heat embossed the words “sending” and “wishes” to complete the card front. I attached the front panel to a white slimline card base to finish the card.
