Hello, crafty friends! This is Bobbi Lemanski, sharing a card featuring the new crafty sets from the Summer Stems release. When I was a young teen, I was on the teen sewing board at my local fabric store. I would make clothes that would be featured in the store along with the pattern and fabric. I learned how to sew from my mom. She made beautiful bridal dresses for others. Today, I share cards using crafting products. It’s not that much different than when I was a teen on the sewing board. My sewing-themed card features the following products:
Let’s Get Crafty stamp and coordinating die sets
Inside: Birthday Sentiments stamp set
Bee Narrow Uppercase Alphabet die set
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by picking some of my favorite Honey Bee Stamps pattern papers for the background, and stitched hearts. I love this soft aqua paper with oranges and corals so this became my color scheme for the card. I’m using papers from the following paper pads: Funfetti Birthday, Hot Tropics, Spring Lullaby, Spring Fling and Summer Stems. The aqua paper was cut to 5″ wide X 6″ tall and attached to a white card base made from Neenah 80lb cardstock. I die cut four stitched hearts out of various patterns and one white one.
I stamped, colored and die cut two pin cushions, a ruler, scissors, thimble, thread spools, and 5 buttons from the Let’s Get Crafty stamp and coordinating die sets. I placed the craft items in a heart shape, attaching the cushion and the thread spools using Scrapbook Adhesives foam tabs to raise them up. For the pin cushions, I stamped and cut out the cushions from pattern paper and glued them to the white stamped ones. I also die cut the words “sew” from Bee Narrow Uppercase Alphabet die set and “fine” from Tailgate Alphabet die set from pattern paper from the Birthday Bash paper pad and attached them using Bee Creative Precision Glue. Using words from the Crafty stamp set, I stamped “girl” and “you’re” to the phrase, “Girl, you’re sew fine” to complete it.
Inside the card, I added some solid and dashed lines using a black marker and ruler to make it look like a sewing pattern piece. I added the scissors and used a black marker to add more symbols. Lastly, I stamped the phrases from the set, Inside: Birthday Sentiments stamp set in the center.
