Happy STAMPtember! I was so excited when Susan from Simon Says Stamp asked me to join in on the party this month. I was “in” from the start. Just last week, this beautiful set, Ornate Ornaments arrived in the mail. I immediately had ideas that I wanted to try with it. I will be sharing several of those in the month of September with you. Ornate Ornaments packs a lot of style and design in these five pretty ornamental beauties.
Today, I wanted to share one of my cards that uses a more non-traditional seasonal color palette for the holidays. I am not a big red/green fan for Christmas. In our home, we put up and decorate 4 larger trees with one that reaches 14′ tall. None of the four trees follows a red/green theme. We have looks that range from hot pink and teal to silver and blue. With my cards, I also like combining traditional sets with a more contemporary, less-traditional palette. Ornate Ornaments has a very modern, non-traditional design, so it really works with this one!
The phrases and words in the set are very pretty. I didn’t plan my colors to match the words, but they worked out perfectly. To me, a bright yellow brings joy and happiness, green says hope for something new and fresh like nature and red is a traditional color that speaks of love.
This set is available at Simon Says Stamp with matching dies available or you can purchase the stamp set and dies together. This is just one of many fabulous sets released for the month. Check out all the fabulous new sets for STAMPtember then visit the designers listed here for inspiration, too!
