It’s time for another Inky Paws Challenge. It’s a sketch challenge and it’s waiting for you to participate! You have two weeks to get inky and linky!  Ink it up and link it by the end of day, July 26 to be eligible to win. One random winner is chosen from the entrants that use Newton’s Nook Designs products in their design. Anyone can enter and use any products, but to be able to win you must use Newton’s Nook products. You can learn all the details at InkyPawsChallenge.com.

Here’s the sketch to follow and my inspiration card.

I made this card following the #102 sketch.

To make this card I used the following products from Newton’s Nook:

I started by stenciling the background strip using distressed inks in Mowed Lawn and Citron and the Tropical Leaves Stencil. I added additional vine lines and leaf veins in a darker green to the design using my Copic YG65 for more depth. For the circular backdrop, I used Copics in BG15, YG03, YG01 and BG11, blending each adjacent color to the next. I flicked some black watercolor onto the circle, too. I stamped, colored and die cut the birds and a few extra leaves. I also die cut a piece of black craft foam and glued it to the back of the birds to make it dimensional and attached the image to the circle piece. Once the circle piece was adhered to the card front, I added the banner with the saying. “Celebrate” from the stamp set, Cocktail Mixer and the sub phrase from Toucan Party. Lastly, I added a few sparkly sequins to the front.

Here’s a few closeups of the card. This is a 5″ X 7″ card size.

In case you missed it, here’s another card I featured last week, using the same challenge sketch.
