It’s day 2 of the Honey Bee Stamps Season to Sparkle Sneak Peek Week and I’m sharing a new set that is part of the release called, “Home Sweet Home.” What feels more like home than the holidays? This card has homespun happiness wrapped all around it! To make this card, I used the following Honey Bee Stamps products. The products are all part of the new release and will be available on Monday, October 14 at 12:01 AM ET.

  • Log Cabin 6″ X 6″ paper pads

To create this 5″ X 7″ greeting card, I started by using some of the new pattern papers for the background. I love the woodgrain at the bottom. It’s like a table or shelf surface for the spool to rest on. Using a fine-tip dark brown marker, I added faux double stitching around the upper  edges to fit with the sewing supplies theme. I stamped the word, “home” twice at the bottom, allowing some space between the two words for the “sweet” word die cut to be positioned. The stamped words, “home” were stamped first, then I shifted the card front and stamped again, slightly offset to create the double stamped images. I added some additional shading around the letters to make them look as if they were stamped/carved into the wood background. The word “sweet” was die cut using a deep red for the script word and a warm gray to match the card base for the shadow.

Next I die cut the spool and added shading and wood-look coloring to create the dimensional wooden spool. I wrapped the spool in a red and white baker’s twine for the holidays. I also die cut the needle out of black craft foam and a silver metallic cardstock and layered them together for a dimensional needle. The twine was threaded through the eye of the needle and the needle was tucked through the threads. The entire spool was die cut from black craft foam, layered and glued together to create a dimensional spool. The stamped heart on the spool and the little greenery by the eye of the needle are both part of the stamp and die sets, too!

I like how this 5″ X 7″ card turned out. It has a real homemade, homespun, rustic farmhouse kind of feel to it. The woods are aged and rustic in warm grays and yellowy browns. It’s the perfect look for this spool and the “home sweet home” phrase.  Thanks for visiting today.
