Post Perfect Greeting

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by trimming a piece of ivory cardstock to 4-3/4″” X  6-3/4″ and arranging the elements of a postcard on the full piece. You can have fun with this, creating the perfect postcard for your style. I chose a very traditional, landscape approach here. I used my MISTI tool to put everything together and then I stamped about six of these on different colors of cardstock to use later! I used Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I added some ink around the edges in a gray/dirty brown to make the postcard look a little more vintage. You can use Distress inks for this.

Next, I worked on the anemone 3D flower using the  Lovely Layers: Anemone die set. I die cut the layers from the Gingham Galore Holiday 6″ X 6″ paper pad. The leaves are cut from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I added veining to the leaves, (following the lines of the die) using Copics in W3 and W1 for a little more dimension.

The center of the flower was cut from black cardstock I added red and maroon gem stickers from the Gem Stickers Vintage Holiday pack, around the center for a little sparkle. Black Vintage Nuvo Drops were added to the black centers for more dimension. Notice, I also created a bud to match the flower from the same gingham. All of the layers were glued together and positioned on the postcard using Bee Creative Precision Tip glue.

I stamped right on a “special delivery” tag from the Vintage Holiday 6″ X 6″ paper pad, the words, “merry and bright” using a stamp from the Inside: Holiday Sentiments stamp set and coordinating die set . Yes, there are tags in the paper pad! This could be personalized with the recipients name, too. 🙂 I also stamped another phrase from the same set in the lower righthand corner and added black dots/specks around it to make it look more aged, imperfect and worn. Black and white bakers twine connects the bow to the flower, underneath the flowers layers.  The entire postcard was adhered to a 5″ X 7″ burgundy cardstock piece to finish the front panel.

Inside a 5″ X 7″ ivory card base, I added more phrases from the Holiday Sentiments set and a pretty scroll design from the Post Perfect set to complete the card. The front panel from the earlier step was attached to the base for a complete card.
