There’s a new release called “Hello Summer” coming from Honey Bee Stamps. Today is the first day of sneak peeks. If you saw my earlier post, you saw some awesome tropical drinks. In this post, I’m serving up a cold beer! I’m using the following new Honey Bee Stamps products:
Sip, Sip, Hooray stamp and die sets
Raise A Glass stamp and die sets
Hot Tropics Paper Pad (for the palm leaves)
Beach Vibes Paper Pad (for faux wood)
I was inspired by the the phrase in the Sip, Sip, Hooray set, “You raised the bar” so I decided to RAISE THE BAR! To do this, I needed a very tall card so I used a slimline card measuring 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall. This card will fit inside a business-sized envelope.
I stamped, die cut, colored and backed the beer drink with 4mm black craft foam to make it dimensional. I added the tropical greenery bar background using pattern paper from the Hot Tropics paper pad. The bar is made from a wood pattern paper in the new Beach Vibes Paper Pad. This would be a great card for an adult male that just accomplished something in life – new job, bar exam, graduation, promotion… you name it!
The bar counter was also elevated by adding 4mm black craft foam. This created a “ledge” to hold the beer for a realistic look. The two phrases were stamped on the bar front. This is a super fun and easy card to make. With the pattern paper, there is very little fussy coloring to do! The texture is all in the paper. Don’t you just love the aged and weathered wood in this pad?

Love this card Bobbi! I’m not a copic pro at all, would you mind telling me which copics you used for the beer? I really love the way the coloring turned out, thanks!
Hi Shawn. I don’t have my colors written down for this card, but here’s a pretty good guess… For beer, my go-to colors tend to be YR27, YR24, Y19, Y08, in order of dark to light. I always leave a little white for a highlight, too. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day! Bobbi
Thanks so much Bobbi! I want to make a similar card for my nephews birthday next month. I just love the way your card turned out, so awesome!
So glad you like it. This is a quick and easy one to make, too! Great for guys. 🙂 Happy holidays! Bobbi
