Hi crafty friends. I’m sharing a fall wreath today full of autumn goodness and gratitude. I’m using the new Stencil 36o system from Penguin Palace Stamps. Here’s the list of products I used for my card today:
My card is a slimline measuring 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall. This size card fits perfectly in a business-sized envelope. I’m using Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card base and inside panels. I cut the base at 7″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall and then cut two inside panels measuring 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall. These panels will be adhered inside to cover any Copic bleed from the coloring.
To make the wreath, I used the Stencils 360° Starter Kit and the Scents of Fall Stencils 360°™ to create this very large, circular wreath design. It measures approximately 7″ wide when fully stenciled. I did not fold my card base until I had completed the wreath. I made sure that the center of the wreath was aligned with the fold of the card base so that 1/2 of the wreath would show on the back and 1/2 on the front. I guess you could say this card is pretty from front to back!
I followed the markings on the stencil system to stencil the wreath design. I used Ranger Distressed Inks in Gathered Twigs (pinecones and stems), Milled Lavender (Leaves) and Rusty Hinge (pine branches). Once the wreath was stenciled, I added in additional shading and berries using Copics in W3, E70 and E71. The pinecones were enhanced with E44, E49 and E53 to add additional dimension and the pine branches got additional color using a Y27 and Y24 and E49 color.
Color was added to the background using watercolor splatters in gold metallic and additional line designs in W3, W1, W7, E42, and E43. It almost gives the appearance of a birch trunk. The phrase, “My deepest gratitude” was embossed in white on a deep plum cardstock. I popped it up using dimensional foam underneath. I added a few metallic floral sequins for a little sparkle around the phrase.
On the inside of the card, I stenciled a few pinecones and branches using Gathered Twigs. I splattered a bit of black over it. I also stamped the phrase, “Heartfelt Thanks” from the stamp set, Heartfelt Notes on the inside in black to complete the card.
