Hello and happy, Monday! I’m sharing a card today that I made last month. I almost forgot to share it. 🙂 What I love about this card is that 1) It’s easy to make, 2) It requires no die cutting – just stamping, minimal coloring and simple masking/stenciling. Supply needs are minimal and inexpensive. 3) It’s flat and can be mailed with just a forever stamp. It can be machine-handled at the USPS. So, why is this all awesome? It’s the perfect card choice to mass produce and mail for the holidays!
I’m using the following products from the Make Merry Release by Simon Says Stamp! for this Christmas card:
Bold Merry Christmas Stencil (ssst121502)
Autumn Leaves stamp set (sss202151) This set also comes with the dies here.
To start, I used the stencil to mask the center on this 5″ X 7″ 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. This will keep the Merry Christmas words pure white. I used Distressed Ink in Iced Spruce and my Honey Bee Stamps Blender Brushes to apply color to the background. I made sure to get it all around the letters to define them and also around the card’s edges. Once the ink was dry, I moved on to stamping.
I added the leaves to my Misti tool and stamped them in black, over the stencil mask and distressed ink. I also stamped the berries, evenly distributing them, knowing that the berries will get colored in. For the berries, I colored them in using BG10, BG11, B72 Copic Markers. I applied a little Quickie Glue (2-pack) and sprinkled dazzling diamond glitter on them. I was not fussy with this step. A little glitter goes a long way! I added a few additional glitter dots to the card front, too. I removed the mask and added a little black ink around the front’s edges and attached it to a 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock 5″ X 7″ card base.
With a Misti took the card could be easily mass-produced for the holidays! You can shop all these Simon Says Stamp goodies and more here. Thanks for stopping by today!
