Hey friends! You put a spring in my step everyday! I love creating and sharing so thank you for being part of my community. Today’s card features Trinity Stamps new stamp set, Spring in My Step stamp and coordinating die set. This little guy is festive and fun and even wiggles while he walks! I put a action wobble behind him for some springy action!
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with Canson XL Bristol watercolor paper (blue pad) and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48) and created a grass green wash background. I stamped some of the accessory pieces from the set on the background using Versamark and heat embossed using Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder. I added some Copic Y06 and Y18 to the butterfly wings and the flower centers, too.
I also stamped the phrase on a strip of white cardstock and attached to the front. Because watercolor paper can warp a bit, I used a double zigzag stitch on my sewing machine and stitched the front panel to a 5″ X 7″ card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.
Next, I stamped, colored and die cut the gnome and chick from the set. I colored them using the following Copic colors:
- Blues: B41, B45,
- Greens: YG17, YG03, YG00
- Yellows: Y18, Y15, Y06, Y0o
- Grays: C3, C1, C0
- Browns: E11, E00, E000
- Reds: R20
I added textures to the eggs for interest. Both images were attached to the card front, using an Action Wobble for the gnome. He “springs” back and forth with the wobble attached!
