Cards for Moms

With Mom’s day right around the corner, now is a good time to think about the supplies you’ll need. I’m using the new Mother’s Day Flowers die  and the Painted Flowers Wreath Stencil along with an older die called, Mama.

Swiss Dotted Fabric-Inspired Mama Card

For this 5″ X 7″ Mama card, I started by stenciling the wreath design using six Distressed Oxide colors in Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted CitronMermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet on 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.

I stamped the Halftone Circle Background Stamp over the wreath using Versamark ink and Wow! Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder. This look reminds me of swiss dotted fabric for mom. 🙂 It’s delicate and soft, yet cheery and bright – perfect for any mom in your life. Lastly, I added the “mama” die cut made from two colors of purple and violet with a vellum shadow layer. I attached it to the center of the wreath using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares.

Cheery Mother’s Day Card

For this 5″ X 7″ Mother’s day card, I used the stencil and the same Distressed Oxide Ink colors I used in the Mama card above for the floral wreath. I enhanced some of the flowers with a darker shade using Copics for some depth in the design.

For the Mother’s Day Flowers die, I stamped the Halftone Circle Background Stamp on a separate sheet of blended pinks and die cut the phrase from it. I backed it with 3MM white craft foam to make it dimensional and adhered it to the wreath design using Bee Creative Precision Glue. Sequins were glued to the front using the glue. Finally, I sewed the 5″ X 7″ card front panel to the card base.

Floral Garden Cards

This 5″ X 7″ card featuring the new Floral Garden stamp set also uses the Halftone Circle Background Stamp in the background. I stamped the florals, colored them in Copic shades of RV and BVs and cut them out at the top.

Next, I added the “sun” behind the blooms by stamping the halftone circular design in a bright yellow. The With Love phrase was stamped over the yellow design. I adhered the florals right over it.

Congratulatory Cards for Grads and More

I have twins graduating from high school this year. Their high school colors are purple and white so I made these cards for upcoming friends’ graduation parties. I’m using the Halftone Circle Background Stamp for the background along with some favorites from prior releases.

Rad Grad Card

My first 5″ X 7″ grad card uses the CZ Design Rad Grad stamp and die sets for the featured lettering. I stamped the Halftone Circle Background Stamp on purple cardstock for the background.

I used Distressed Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean to create the strip down the center. I splattered water on the blended background to create the splotchy look and then reapplied Wilted Violet over it. I added dots of purple and white ink using a V09 Copic and a Uni-bell Signo White Gel Pen. I used Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares to attach the Rad Grad die to a strip down the center, adding black strips down both sides of the inked strip and attached to the dotted background to finish the card.

You Da Best Card

For this card, I stamped the Halftone Circle Background Stamp on black cardstock and added faux stitched circles in white using a circle template and a Uni-bell Signo White Gel Pen.

Next, I die cut and added the “You da best” die to the front. I cut it from purple cardstock and 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I added die cut flowers from the Happy Mother’s Day Flowers die  to the front in violet/fuchsia and purple. The phrase die was attached using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares.

More Congratulatory Cards

Here’s a two more cards I shared earlier this week using a metallic gold and white combination. You can read more about these two cards here. I used the Halftone Circle Background Stamp and the XL Congrats die for these cards.
