Hello, friends! We’re having a Blog /IG hop today to celebrate a newly released stamp set by Jane’s Doodles. The set is called, “What the Fig!” and is filled with figs, leaves and two phrases. In Jane style, she loves creating sets that are unique and different. After all, have you ever seen a fig set before? There are whole and slices of figs to color for your projects. This fruit is unique in its color inside and out, making it fun to color with paints or markers.
With the hop comes some fun and a prize, too! To hop, stop at each spot listed at the bottom of this blog post. There will be a giveaway (winner chooses a stamp set of one’s choice) during the hop. The winner will be announced on Friday, 7/30 so don’t delay! Enter today for a chance to win.
There is also a sale at Jane’s Doodles with 30% off from Thursday, 7/29 through Friday, 7/30/2021. If you like what I’m sharing today and you decide to place an order, please use the links below or shop using this LINK. I appreciate it very much! Now on to my card…
You’re Figgin’ Awesome Card
This card measures 5″ X 7″ and the front card panel was painted using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors (48) and Canson XL Bristol Smooth watercolor paper. The background panel and the stamped elements were colored using paints in purples, gold, coral pinks and greens. I stamped, painted and fussy cut all the fun figs. You can see the interesting colors this fruit has to offer. From purples and greens on the outside to coral pinks and yellows on the inside, you’ll enjoy these lovely ladies. I kept everything loose and flowing – a bit abstract at times. 🙂 The background was a wash of gold and pink on the Canson XL Bristol Smooth watercolor paper to complement my focal images.
I arranged the colored fruit and leaves together, allowing a few of them to stand out using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. Using a Uni-bell Signo White Gel Pen, I also added some white accents on the fruit and leaves. Lastly, I tucked the phrase behind the fruit and attached the front panel to an A7-sized card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.
Here’s a quick look at the dimension from the side. I think this is such a fun set and the phrases are pretty sassy, too! If you decide to place an order, please use the links in this post so that the companies know what inspired you. I appreciate it very much. It helps me to continue to bring more ideas to you!
