My cards measure 5″ X 7″ and fit inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s the details.

Happy Day

For this card, I used the Hearts Stencil for the background along with Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink. I also splattered on some purple and metallic gold watercolor paint over the hearts. I added a deep violet / magenta strip of cardstock on the bottom, letting a little white show at the very edge. I also added a 1/4″ strip of warm gray at the top, too.

I stamped and fussy cut the mice, balloons, present, party hat and cupcake. Everything was colored in golds, grays, violets an magentas using Copic markers. I used a white gel pen on the balloons for highlights and a black marker for the balloon strings.

I assembled the scene and attached the balloons and mice using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares to make them stand out. Lastly, I stamped in Versamark and embossed in white the phrase, “It’s Your Birthday” from the Happy Day stamp set.

Iris Card

For this A7 card, I stamped the iris images at the bottom and colored them in using Copics in YR47, YR24, YR23, Y38, Y19, Y17, Y15, G29, YG67, YG63, YG61, W1, and E43. I added extra leaves at the bottom to fill in the white spaces between the stems.

For two of the iris blooms, I stamped another iris and cut out the foreground petal and glued it on the card, colored to match the background iris. This gives the card some pretty and unexpected dimension! Here’s another look from the side…

I splattered black watercolor over the top of the card and stamped the phrase from the stamp set, You Got This! (on sale now for $5.00!) A few sequins in purples, magentas and yellows were added on the card front to finish this card.
