Happy Easter, Bee friends! Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, you can enjoy the first days of spring. My family will be celebrating together with an Easter dinner at my sister’s house. I made these two cards to give to our twins’ in their Easter baskets. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products for these cards:
Easter Basket Builder stamp and coordinating die set.
Team Tie Dye 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad
The featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panels. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use the Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. Both cards are 5″ X 7″ in size and fit inside an A7 envelope.
Easter Basket Card
For my first 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the front panel using the Scallop A7 Card Frame dies. I also die cut pattern paper from the Team Tie Dye 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad for the bottom half and attached it.
I stamped colored and die cut the basket, eggs, grass and bunny ears. I used the following Copic Marker colors to color the images:
- Basket: E49, E59, E57, E55, E53
- Grasses: YG67, YG23, YG03, YG00
- Eggs: R14, R22, R1, BG23, BG11, V05, V04, V12, RV17, RV55, RV02, YG15, YG11, YG00
- Ears: E53, e50, R21
The basket and contents were attached to the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white.
To finish the front, I stamped a phrase from the Hoppy Easter stamp set right below the basket. I added faux stitching in black around the perimeter, on the stitching lines. Lastly, gem stickers from the Hugs and Kisses package were attached to the top half for a little bling.
Phrases from the Hoppy Easter stamp set were stamped inside the card base in black and the card front panel was attached to the card base to finish this Easter greeting. We’re giving this card to my daughter.
Chocolate Easter Bunny Card
This card is for our son. Our son loves goofy cards and I think he will get a kick out of this one. Like the first card, I used the Scallop A7 Card Frame dies to die cut the card front panel and pattern paper from the Team Tie Dye 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad for the bottom half. The two were attached together and a 1/4″ strip of gray was used to finish the edge. I added some white marks over the pattern paper and black faux stitching around the perimeter, on the stitch lines.
I created two bunnies using the bunny die from the Easter Basket Builder die set. I did not stamp these bunnies since they are meant to be solid chocolate. I added a white eye and highlight marks using my white gel pen. Both bunnies have a chunk eaten from their body, the buttock/tail and the ears. I used a scallop edge to create the “bite” marks.
I made two custom phrases for the chocolate bunnies for a little silliness. 🙂 I also added the phrase, “That just happened” from the stamp set, Blah, Blah, Blah. The card front was attached to the card base.
Inside the card, I stamped two phrases from the Hoppy Easter stamp set.
