Welcome to a new release by Simon Says Stamp! The release is called Happy and Joyful and is full of fun new products for Spring. There’s something for mom, friend, sisters and more! I’m using the following products from the release:
XL Stacked Greetings stamp set
Intricate Rose and Blooms Bouquet Foil Plates and dies set
My cards measure 5″ X 7″ and fit inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base unless noted. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s the details.
Mother Earth Rainbow Card
My first 5″ X 7″ card, begins with a splattering of white paint on 110 black cardstock for the front panel. I splattered it on using a fan-shaped brush. I used the Mother Earth stamp set for the focal point design. I stamped it on 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it using Copic Markers. I kept the top part black and white for high contrast. I used a circle die that just fit to cut it out.
I attached the Mother Earth design using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. I also included a hanging rainbow that I had stamped and cut out from the Repeating Rainbows background stamp. I even added a little paper fringe at the ends of the rainbow. 🙂 I used hemp twine to attach the rainbow to the earth at the bottom. The strings were hidden behind the earth.
I stamped and embossed in white the word, “beautiful” from the Mother Earth stamp set. Lastly, I added a rainbow of rhinestones to the top half of the earth design to complete this card.
Layered Flower Birthday Card
I will say this is a super fun card to make. It’s easy and quick and can be made in any colors you choose! I used the following Ranger Distress Oxide Inks: Mowed Lawn, Seedless Preserves, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Festive Berries and the newest Ranger color, Saltwater Taffy. I love how fun this is layer and change up!
I used a black and white striped pattern paper to finish the bottom of this card along with a 1/4″ strip of orange to finish the seam nicely. I stamped the phrase from the set, XL Stacked Greetings stamp set and cut it down and attached it to a black strip just slightly wider than the phrase to back it. I attached it to the front panel using Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Squares. I love the bold black and white against this lively floral design.
Lastly, I added some enamel dot stickers to the centers of the stenciled flowers for some added shine and dimension.
