Hi there, friends! I’m sharing a card today featuring new products from Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release 2022. I’m using: the Candles stamp and the Sparkling Facets embossing folder. I thought it would be fun to make a card poking at the aging process. This candles stamp set stamps all the candles at once. I went back in and quickly cut them apart to make this card. I also used XL Stacked Greetings stamp set for the inside sentiment. Check it out below!

I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front panel and base. I used Hero Arts Intense Black Ink for the stamping inside and out.  I used HBS Precision Glue to attach the candles and elements. Now for the details…

I made this 5″ X 7″ card using the Sparkling Facets embossing folder as a background and the candles as a feature. The embossed background gives texture and interest to the background while keeping focus on the candles, the star of the show. While these candles stamp in rows, I easily cut out the candles in fours (keep them together here) and then individually. This is super quick to do because they are straight lines on the sides. I laid them out with four vertical and one that lays diagonally over the upright candles to look like tallies. The stamps were stamped all in black. I colored in the flames using Copic Sketch Markers: YR07, YR68, and YR19.

Inside, I added more candles and a phrase from the stamp set, XL Stacked Greetings stamp set. These greetings are large and so useful. I pull them alot to finish my cards inside. I used two greetings and stamped them stacked. “Hang in there” is from one stamp and the “happy birthday” sentiment is from another. This is easy to do if you have a sticky Post-It note handy. I just cover the area I do not want stamped and then stamp the section I do want to show. The little smile face was hand drawn by me!
