Hello Bee friends. Today, we are celebrating the new Happy Hearts release by Honey Bee Stamps. This release celebrates the love of spring in all of us. It’s filled with critters, hearts and more! Today I’m using the following new products from the release:
Lovely Layers: Pansy Honey Cuts
Foil Script: Love Hot Foil Plates & Honey Cuts
Opulent Layering Frames Honey Cuts
The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size. Now for the details…
This card starts with a 5″ X 7″ card base made from 80lb cardstock in white. I splattered it with black, green, lavender and purple watercolor paints for a simple background. I cut the large Opulent Frame from white and added little black accent lines all around it to make it stand out a bit. I also shadowed below it with gray C3 and C1 Copics to make it more dimensional. I cut and added the next sized frame in a lavender cardstock. I added drops of purple Nuvo Drops to the corners of the frame for an accent.
The pansies were cut using white cardstock and the dies and I blended color on the top layers using Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink and my smaller blender brushes. I added a deeper purple over it using my V09 purple Copic marker. The yellow center was colored using Y19 and Y15 Copics. I like to add some dimensional dots in between two layers of the flowers to make them stand out more. The rest of the layers were glued together using Bee Creative Precision Tip glue.
The greens were cut from green cardstock and then further defined with YG67, YG25 and YG17 Copic markers.
I attached the flowers, buds, and leaves, arranging them within the frames. Lastly, I attached the “with love” script word phrase using dimensional dots. To make the phrase, I foiled the words in purple using purple foil and using my Spellbinder Glimmer Hot Foil System. and die cut it using the coordinating dies in the set. I attached the sentiment in the white space, over the greenery.
