Hello friends! I’m sharing a card today for the Honey Bee Stamps, Adventure Awaits Release Inspiration Week. All week long HBS designers, like me are sharing card ideas featuring all the awesome sets in this release. Today, my card is for the fishing enthusiast. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Lures Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Rod and Reel Honey Cuts dies
Shield Layering Frames Honey Cuts dies
Hooked On you stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Fishing Legend stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies (for the hat only)
The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by inking the background using the Fish Net Background Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China, Speckled Egg, Forest Moss, and Twisted Citron. I die cut the largest shield from the Shield Layering Frames Honey Cuts dies from a lighter brown cardstock and added planking and woodgraining using a fine-tip marker. I wanted this too look like wood. I used Copics in E43, E44, E47, E55, W7 and 10o to make the graining.
I die cut the layers of these three lures from bright colors, assembled and added additional coloring/shading to show off the texture. I attached the lures using foam tabs to make them stand out from the wood background. Next, I die cut the rod and reel pieces and assembled the pole. I attached a fish on the hook. I also cut and assembled the tackle box and added the reel and box to the card front, overlapping the lures with the fishing line as needed.
Lastly, I stamped and cut out the sentiments using the Hooked On you stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I attached them using foam tabs to finish this card.
