Build-A-Stocking Gift Tags

I love making handmade tags for the holidays. It’s a way to personalize your gift on the outside, similar to on the inside. Both of these tags open for a to/from message inside. I used the “to/from” from the North Pole Mail Stamps set.

I’m using the following Papertrey Ink new products:

Build-A-Stocking Dies

North Pole Mail Stamps (for the “to/from” inside the stockings)

Skinny Ric Rac Dies for the outer embellishments

TIP: To make the tag open, I simply folded a piece of white cardstock and attached the stocking die on the cardstock with the top of the stocking cut line extending beyond the fold in the cardstock. This will give you a top-fold tag! It’s that easy to do!

I cut the Build-A-Stocking Die die elements for each stocking and attached them behind the stocking top to look like they are inside the sock. I used the Skinny Ric Rac die to create a fun embellishment on the front. I simply cut a frame and then cut the pieces to fit the stockings. I used Stamper’s Select White, Pure Poppy, New Leaf, True Black,  Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist cardstock for the elements. I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add polka dots to the ribbon bow and snow on the berries. The berries were colored using Copics: R89, RV09, R21. RV02. I added polka dots to the blue present using Copic R29.

Once everything was glued together, I attached the white tag base (the one cut from the folded cardstock) to the back to cover up any glued areas and then added a “to/from” inside.

My second tag follows the same steps. I used Copic Markers in R14 and R21 to add stripes to the envelope’s flap. For the ornament, I used R89, R46, R29, R17 and R14 to color it. I used my white Gelly Roll pen for the white accents. Berries were done in R89, R46, R27 and R14 with white accents.
