Did you know that you can turn a gingerbread man upside down and he turns into a reinDEAR?! I’ve seen cookies  made this way and had to try it for my reindeer tags. Well, it works! Upside down and a few additional details turns these yummy men into fun deer for the holidays!

I used the following products from Honey Bee Stamps to make these tags:

To create the reindeer, I die cut gingerbread men from brown kraft paper and darker brown cardstock. For the kraft cardstock I inked the edges and added darker dots/specks using a Copic Marker to make it look like gingerbread (below). I die cut the mailbox shape from the gingerbread die set and turned it upside down and snipped off the mailbox post. A berry from the Winter Bouquets die set makes the bright red nose. The eyes were also die cut from white cardstock using the berries die. I used a marker to make black circles for the eyes. Antlers were cut from the Winter Bouquets die set and attached. I hand drew the black ears.

The santa hat from the gingerbread stamp set was stamped in black and colored in using reds and grays and attached to the deer. The scallop frames were die cut and backed by black craft foam. Nuvo Drops in silver metallic was added to the green frame and a glittery Nuvo Drops to the red frame. I used pattern papers from the Log Cabin paper pad for the interior area of the frames. Bows were cut from a die in the Winter Bouquets die set and attached to the top. Lastly, baker’s twine was strung through the hanger hole to complete these tags. Later, I added a “to/from” circle to the backs of these tags to use for gift giving.
