Hello friends! Today’s a big day for the Brass and Bliss Craft Co. because it is the release day for its newest release, “Bough of Joy.” The new release includes all things winter and Christmas holiday. Get a head start on your holiday cards by ordering now. Don’t wait for “out of stocks” on your favorites. Head to the shop to order today!
To celebrate the new release, the company and design team along with guest designers, like me, Bobbi Hart Design are featuring card ideas on Instagram. Hop with us to be inspired with holiday cards that are a feast for the eyes! From tree farms, deer spotted in woods to holiday-wrapped mailboxes and gorgeous poinsettias, Brass and Bliss, have thought of it all. With their fantastic dies that work so well, create your own one-of-a-kind looks for your family and friends.
For the basics… my featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panels. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size. These products are also ALL available at Simon Says Stamp!
Boughs of Joy release. I create 5″ X 7″ cards because I like to deliver a larger, more-commercial card size, but any of these could be made in a A2 size that is a more typical size choice by many cardmakers.
Holly and Joy Card

Mailbox With Presents Card
Brass and Bliss Craft Co. products used:
For this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the shown elements from the NEW – Mailbox with Presents Die. I assembled the mailbox, presents, etc. I used Copics to further enhance the cuts for more dimension, such as using a R89 on the red stripes on the pole. By shadowing, the pole looks more round / dimensional. I added some simple holly to one of the gifts for a special wrap.
I die cut the sentiment using the NEW – Merry Christmas Script Die using a pink cardstock for the back layer and red for the top layer. I assembled the sentiment. I hand cut some rolling hills for the background. I also die cut the Individual Birch Tree Dies and shadowed one side of the trees using a Copic gray marker, W3. Everything was assembled to create the scene. I splattered on diluted black water color ink to the scene for snow in the air and on the snow-covered hills and white paint. Using two colors creates more dimension for the snowfall and the entire scene!
