For the basics… my featured projects below are made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panels. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size. These products are also ALL available at Simon Says Stamp!

Now for some inspiration… here are some cards I made using the new products from the
Boughs of Joy release.  I create 5″ X 7″ cards because I like to deliver a larger, more-commercial card size, but any of these could be made in a A2 size that is a more typical size choice by many cardmakers.

Holly and Joy Card

Brass and Bliss Craft Co. products used:
This 5″ X 7″ card begins with a splattered background using black watercolor paint. I stamped the holly branch three times on the card front and colored it using Copic Markers in reds, greens and browns (Colors used: R89, R29, R17, R14, R22, R21, R20, YG67, YG23, YG63, YG03, E55 E57, E44). On another piece of white cardstock, I stamped in black and die cut the verse from the NEW – Holly and Cheer Stamps and coordinating dies. I attached the sentiment to the front panel using foam tabs to make it stand out.
I die cut holly and berries using the Holly # 2 dies and attached them behind the verse to add more dimension to the card. I also die cut the NEW – Merry Christmas Script Die and attached it to the lower right corner. Lastly, I sprinkled on white paint for snow over the entire card front. Once dry, I attached the card front to the card base to complete the card.

Mailbox With Presents Card

Brass and Bliss Craft Co. products used:

For this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the shown elements from the NEW – Mailbox with Presents Die. I assembled the mailbox, presents, etc. I used Copics to further enhance the cuts for more dimension, such as using a R89 on the red stripes on the pole. By shadowing, the pole looks more round / dimensional. I added some simple holly to one of the gifts for a special wrap.

I die cut the sentiment using the NEW – Merry Christmas Script Die using a pink cardstock for the back layer and red for the top layer. I assembled the sentiment. I hand cut some rolling hills for the background. I also die cut the Individual Birch Tree Dies and shadowed one side of the trees using a Copic gray marker, W3. Everything was assembled to create the scene. I splattered on diluted black water color ink to the scene for snow in the air and on the snow-covered hills and white paint. Using two colors creates more dimension for the snowfall and the entire scene!
