The Happy Camper release by Simon Says Stamp just hit the store and it is filled with some “hot diggity dog” sets! No, really it is! It’s got campers, hot dogs, pickles, stars, florals and more! My cards below feature the following new sets:

Frankly stamps and dies combination (stamps only, dies only) and Frankly Words die set

Groovy Flowers die set

Simple Stars Stencil Set

Floral Frame Embossing Folder

Rooting For You stamps and dies bundle (stamps only, dies only)

My cards below measure 5″ X 7″ and fit inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. I also like to use foam squares to create more dimension on my cards. My white Gelly Roll Pen is my go-to for adding any white highlights. Here’s the details.

Frankly You’re on a Roll Card

Here’s a fun card that could be for men or women. It’s all about the FRANK! I love this set and you have to have the stamp and dies for cute puns on the hot dog. Here’s the links (no pun intended) Frankly stamps and dies combination (stamps only, dies only) and Frankly Words die set. I paired these products with the new Simple Stars Stencil Set and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink for a very “all-American’ background to go with a fair-goer favorite, the frank. Notice that I used the ketchup and mustard squiggly lines to add emphasis to the word, “Frankly.” There are so many cute phrases to go along with this “hot” dog!

I’m Rooting For You Card

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Floral Frame Embossing Folder  to emboss an A2 sized white card panel. I added color to the florals and leaves using Copic markers. I also stamped, die cut and colored the fun little animals from the Rooting For You stamps and dies bundle (stamps only, dies only). I added the animals, big sunflower and pot of plants to the center of the frame and stamped the sentiment, “I’m rooting for you!” right below. I attached the embossed panel to a A7 white card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock.

Groovy Flower Garden Card

This was a fun card to make. I used the garden, cat, and shovel elements from the Rooting For You stamps and dies bundle (stamps only, dies only) and added a rainbow of colorful flowers using the Groovy Flowers die set. To start out, I splattered on watercolor paint on a 5″ X 7″ card base made from 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I used a black and brown paint for a “grounded” look. Next, I added the garden plot colored using Copics in E55, E57 and E59. The shovel was colored in C3, C2, 100, R29, R17 and R14. The cat was colored in 100, C5, C3 and C1 with a little R81 pink. The Groovy Flowers were cut from a rainbow of cardstock. I drew in additional leaves and stems using a black fine-tip pen and also stamped more leaves to add growing plants to the garden plot. On the blossoms, I added extra details using my white Gelly Roll Pen. I colored the white centers using Y08, Y19 and YR24. Leaves were colored using Copic Markers YG65, YG13, and YG03.
