There’s a new release at Simon Says Stamp called Cheer and Joy. I’m excited to share a card I made using two sets from the release, now available. For this card, I used the following:
I stamped the leafy background using a darker green on a slightly off-white cardstock. The card measures 5″ X 7″ and the background stamp is 6″ X 6″ so I added strips of green at the top and bottom to create a 7″ tall panel to attach to a warm gray card base.
For the “merry” feature, I wanted to make it look like a wood sign so I added lines using a fine tip black marker to a warm gray rectangle and added additional shading to mimic shiplap/boards. Next, I stamped over the lines with the “merry” image from the Holiday Greetings Mix 1 stamp set. I colored in the leaves and berries in traditional greens and reds.
Everything was shaded and smudged to “dinge” it up a bit for more of a rustic, farmhouse feel. I also added Pearl Pen in a deeper red to the berries to make them dimensional and stand out a bit.
Check out all the new products available at Simon Says Stamp today. It’s all part of the Cheer and Joy release. So many great products, your wish list will be long!
Check out my blog on Saturday, 10/12 for more cards using this stamp set. I will be participating in the Simon Says blog hop. There will be a chance to win prizes, too!
