Making some waves today with the Jane’s Doodles (JD) #12 Challenge. The theme is die cuts. Use a die cut with a Jane’s Doodles stamp set and enter the card challenge. I used the Summer Icons stamp set for my inspiration card.
The outside of this 5″ X 7″ landscape card has three peek-a-boo circular windows, perfectly sized for the summer images in this set. Two colors of distressed inks in summery colors were used for each window background. The Copic-colored icons were attached using foam tabs on top of the three windows for dimension.
For the cut bottom piece from the front panel, I used a wave border stencil and distressed inks in shades of blue to create the water waves on the die cut. The “Hello Summer” phrase was heat embossed in white. I added some highlights using my white pen, too. The cut piece was adhered to the inside of the card, lining it up with the top-fold front panel flap. When the card is shut, they fit perfectly together like puzzle pieces.
