Hello! It’s been a bit since I added a new post (well since last week:)) so I thought I’d share this card that I made for the Honey Bee Stamps Hello Summer Release, release just a few weeks ago. I used the new stamp set, Luau for this one and made a scene that I hope takes you to Hawaii for some sunset fun! I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Luau stamp and die sets
Beach House Add-on Stamp Set (for the sign only)
Hot Tropics 6″ X 6″ pattern paper pad (for the yellow fence only)
Everything I needed to create this scene is from the Luau stamp set – instrument, leaves, wood carvings, etc. I did hand draw the stone path, used pattern paper for the yellow fence in the background and hand made my own bar sign. The “Tiki Bar Open” phrase was stamped using a stamp from the Beach House Add-on Set. The background for the scene was created using yellow and orange distressed inks blended to create a sunset backdrop.
The carvings were used in two ways. I took the carved heads in the stamp set and added wood posts to the tall ones and a wood stump to the double-headed statue. Simple woodgrain coloring on the posts and stump allow the add-ons to blend in with the carved heads. I colored the heads in two ways – the stump is all in wood tones and the posts have painted accents on them. I like the heads colored in both ways. This is a 5″ X 7″ card and mails using a basic Forever. one-ounce postage stamp in the United States.
