Hi friends! Bobbi here with a 5″ X 7″ sized “thank you” card using Penguin Palace Stamps products. With Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s nice to thank those around you. Speaking of “a-round,” let’s talk circles. This card’s design focuses on small bits of a larger design.

To make this card, I used the Stencils 360 Starter Kit and the Summer Blossoms Stencil to create the blossom patterns used for the circles. This blossom pattern is very large, especially if you are making a wreath using the kit. A fun way to use it is by die cutting or punching out circles of the design to be used to create something completely different. In this case, I positioned them in a 3X3 design for the front of this 5″ X 7″ card.

You can see in this picture that the circles are actually a very vibrant earthy red with a sparkly silver/gold design added using Nuvo Glacier Paste in Quicksilver. To achieve this look, I used Festive Berries and Black Soot Distressed Oxide inks on 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock using HBS Blender Brushes to create the background. The stencil design was applied to the cardstock using the paste and a crafting palette knife. It creates a raised glittery design when complete. While this looks amazing in these deep colors, I toned it down by adding a piece of vellum over it on the front panel. I wanted a softer look for the card so that my phrase would really shine.

Once the vellum was secured in place using Scor-Tape 0.125 Inch Crafting Tape (Attached to the top and bottom on the back side of the card front), I stamped the vellum with the Heartfelt Thanks phrase from the Heartfelt Notes stamp set using a Versamark ink pad and black embossing powder. I positioned it over the center circle and heat set it.

Small mirrored heart bits were added to the front to finish the card. A little sparkle never hurts! I love that the background color does not overpower the phrase and the heart shaped bits reinforce the “heartfelt” phrase. Keep in mind, this is also a great way to use u extra snips of any design. Simply die cut them scraps!
