Hello crafty friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here (@BobbiHartDesign) with three cards for Spring. I love Sunny Studio Stamps products and was so excited to be asked to guest design in January. I couldn’t wait to play with ALL of these adorable critters! I’m using the following Sunny Studio Stamps products:
Passionate Penguins stamp set and coordinating die set
Critters on the Go stamp set and coordinating die set
Hearts Bouquet stamp set and coordinating die set
Subtle Grey Tones 6″X6″ paper pack
Chillin’ Easel Card
My first card is a 5″ X 6″ easel card featuring the cute penguins from the Passionate Penguins stamp and coordinating die set. For the background, I used the Bursting Hearts Die, removing the light aqua die cut hearts and adding back in hearts in turquoise and red. You can make any pattern you like which is really fun! I used the Subtle Grey Tones 6″X6″ paper pack for the bottom section of the card front.
To make the easel, I cut my cardstock 6″ wide X 10″ long and scored at 2-1/2″ and 5″ from the left side. The 2-1/2″ section is folded upward and the card front is attached to this section, down to the 2-1/2″ score line. For the easel to stay in place, my black cardstock strip on the inside of the card includes three layers of cardstock, creating a lip for the card front to stay in place. The embossed phrase is from the stamp set, Critters on the Go stamp set.
Another strip of the pattern paper is attached below the black strip inside. When the card is folded flat for mailing, the phrase is hidden underneath the card front. This is a card that can be displayed after it is given!
Under the Umbrella Card
This sweet card measures 5″ X 7″ and uses a cute image from the Passionate Penguins stamp set and coordinating die set. I stamped, colored and die cut the critters and placed them in this rainy scene created using Copic markers. I used the following Copic colors:
- Penguins/Umbrella image: 100, C8, C7, C5, C3, C1, R29 R17, R14, YR68, YR14, BG49, BG23, BG11, YG03, YG00, V06, V04, Y38
- Rainy Background: BG75, BG72, BG70, BG49, BG15, BG11, BG01, B00, B000 and a Gelly Roll white pen for raindrops
To finish this card, I used a pattern paper from the Subtle Grey Tones 6″X6″ paper pack for the bottom half. I heat embossed, in white the “thinking of you” phrase from the Critters on the Go stamp set on black cardstock. I added Birthday Cake Dot Sprinkles above the umbrella for a little bit of fun and color, too!
Wheelie Happy Birthday Card
For this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the cute images from the Critters on the Go and Hearts Bouquet stamp set. I stamped, colored and die cut the images and pieced together the animals on the wheels. I doubled up the giraffe and bunny on the moped and added the bulldog on the skateboard. I purposely slanted the “wheelie” word in in the phrase to look like a real wheelie. 🙂
For the background, I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon and Squeezed Lemonade and splattered the blended ink with water. I blotted it with a paper towel to lift ink for a splotchy look. I used two pattern papers at the top and bottom from the Subtle Grey Tones 6″X6″ paper pack.
Inside the card, I added another “wheelie” word and a pup doing a wheelie for a fun way to complete this card. 🙂
