Hello friends! I’m sharing some fun tags to celebrate the new Season of Wonder release by Simon Says Stamp! This release has holiday treasures including this fun Halloween set called, Just Batty. This set has a coordinating set of dies to go with it, too.

For my project, I made three coordinating tags in black and white to add to a colorful package of candies. I plan to attach these to the candy bags for my twins’ college friends. I wanted to keep them all black and white since there are so many images in the set so show off. I love the spooky feel this offers and will complement brightly packaged candies perfectly v. getting lost in the color mix.

Here’s a full list of products used:

Just Batty stamps and dies

Rustic Sprigs die (also new in this release)

Hero Arts Nested Tags dies (I used the largest size for these tags. This is my favorite tag set.)

I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the tag bases. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here’s the details.

After die cutting the tag bases, I used blender brushes to add black into around the perimeter of each tag. I used the Ranger Distress Oxide ink in Black Soot which gives a smoky effect around the edges. Next, I stamped the images on the card bases and on a separate sheet of white cardstock. I die cut the images on the separate sheet and attached them using foam tabs to make them stand out. I added some shadowing to the images using warm grays in W7, W5, W3, W1, W0. This provides more dimension, while keeping the tags black and white. Notice the mummy? You see his bandages better with the shadows on the edges of the gauze strips.

I added some black springs using the Rustic Sprigs die to the tags. I think the springs in black look dead and spooky!   I used brightly colored string to accent the tags and finish them.
