The Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #102 begins today. You have two weeks to make a project and link it to the challenge page. (Link your card by Friday, 7/19/2019.) The current challenge is a sketch challenge. I followed the challenge using Sending Hugs stamp and die sets.
To create this card, I started by flicking black watercolor paint onto white cardstock. I added some black and white diagonally striped pattern paper to the card front. I added additional elements based on the sketch. The words “sending” and “Hugs” was stamped onto sketch elements.
I created the large circle by punching out four circles in four colors and cutting them into quarters and adhering them back together. Next, I stamped, colored and die cut the cute cat and coffee mug from the stamp set. The coffee cup was colored in Copics to match the circular background for the cat. I die cut a piece of black foam in the shape of the cat so that the animal stood out from the sketch design. Lastly, I stitching around the circular elements using a black marker and added multi-colored paper confetti pieces to the card front for a little zest!
The inside of the card required a little extra cardstock to make the card 6″ wide (requires 12″ cardstock length in total). I added some pattern paper and another circular design like the card front to make it stretch across the 6″ width.
I also created a matching envelope by adding colorful confetti dots to the front. This card is a 4″ X 6″ card.
