Hi friends! I’m participating in the Honey Bee Stamps Love Letter’s release Instahop today! You can hop on the trail by visiting my Instagram page here. You can check out all the hop stops anytime. I’m sharing details of my project here on my blog. This card is food-themed and I’m using a number of new sets from the release. Here’s a list of the Honey Bee Stamps products from the release:
To My Butter Half stamp and coordinating die sets (egg, bread, jam and phrases)
Love You S’more stamp and coordinating die sets (latte in the cup)
Heart Beets For You stamp and coordinating die sets (pears)
Lovely Layers: Heart Vines Honey Cut die set
Love Letters 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad
Will You Be My stamp and coordinating die sets
Woodgrain Background Stamp (from a previous release)
For this 5″X 7″ card, I kept the front simple. I attached a 6″ wide X 5″ tall pattern paper on the front, centered. I added the black and white vertical band for the images since the pattern is busy. I stamped two phrases and two images from The Butter Half stamp sets and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I attached them to the front.
Inside, I created a pop-up by adding a box support measuring 1″ tall X 1-1/2″ deep X 2-1/2″ wide. To make this, simply score a strip of cardstock at 1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″ and 3″ and form into a square and glue and trim final edge. I attached it to the interior card panels at the center using 1/2″ double-sided Scor-Tape. I added the “tile” backsplash by die cutting a piece of white cardstock using the Quilted A2 Coverplate die. I stenciled the black hearts on the quilt using the Quilted Hearts & Dots Stencil and Black Soot Distressed Oxide Ink. I hand drew the ship lap on the sides after adhering the backsplash to the inside front panel. I added a the Lovely Layers: Heart Vines Honey Cut die in black to the tile (as if it is metal artwork on the wall).
I created the 5-1/4″ X 2-3/8″ wood counter/table using the Woodgrain Background Stamp and colored it with E shades of Copics. (See colors below). I attached it to the box support. I added the check patterned paper runner using paper from the Love Letters 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad. I stamped the jam jar, egg, toast, pears and teacup and colored them using the colors listed below. I added the eggs and toast to the white plates with black chargers (made from basic circles). The teacup was attached to the wall with a small box support (1/4″ X 3/4″) to make it stand out. I had scraps leftover from the woodgrain so I faced the support with faux wood. Everything you see was glued to the counter and wall using Bee Creative Precision Glue including the phrases from Will You Be My and To My Butter Half stamp sets.
Here’s a side view of the card. You can see both box supports – the one under counter/table and the one for the teacup. This card is fun to give because of these unexpected pop-up features inside. The design offers actual “depth” for creative interest.
