Today, my featured card showcases the new products:
Birdhouse Bliss stamps and dies
Elegant Edges: Fresh Cuts dies
Just Sentiments: Welcome (for the “hello sunshine” phrase, only)
These products will be available after 10:00PM ET, on Tuesday, 5/23/2023. I will link to these products once they go live tonight. My card below measures 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope.
To make this card, I started with a card base made from Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Because my card is 5″ X 7″ and top folding, I pieced the front and pack together using a 1/2″ hinge on the back panel (cut 7-1/2″ tall X 5″ wide and scored 1/2″ from the top). I sandwiched the hinge between two die cut pieces for the front panel. Note: The pieces were cut to 5″ X 7″ and ran through the die cutting machine with the Elegant Edge scallop design on the bottom edge so that they would match up perfectly when the card base was assembled.
I die cut all the pieces to to make the birdhouses and stamped them in brighter teals, aquas, pinks, reds and golds. I did stamp the designs and then enhanced them further using my Copics. You don’t have to do this because this set has lots of fun layers to use to add accents to them. I just like to add some hand-coloring to mine.
For the background, I sponged on Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks to the front and Bundled Sage on the back panel. I splattered water on the inks and blotted them with a paper towel to lift the ink for the imperfect dotted design you see here. Then, I stamped some of the branches in black ink around the perimeter of the card front and added pretty leaves stamped in Bundled Sage. The birdhouses were attached with foam tabs to make them stand out more. For the lower branches, I dotted on color in YG03, YG01, YG67 for a touch of whimsy and lightness. I wanted to keep the focus on the birdhouses. Flowers from the set, color dots and more greenery were added around the birdhouses to fill in. Tassels and hearts finished the houses for extra cuteness!
On the inside, I stamped the “Hello Sunshine” sentiment from the stamp set, Just Sentiments Welcome. My card is all set!
